The JAM Festival has its origins in the Pickering Village JAZZ festival and has expanded to include Art and Music including Jazz and other local bands.
The festival is presented by Pickering Village Community Events and offeres visitors a chance to sit and listen to music at two local venues including the Main Stage, set up on Old Kingston Rd which is closed off to local traffic, and the smaller Courtyard Stage.
The event kicks off on Friday night June 8th to 10th in 2012 with music at the main stage starting off at 8pm - midnight, and 7pm - 11pm at the Courtyard Stage.
Music resumes on Saturday at 1:30pm - midnight on the main stage, and 2:15pm - 11:30pm on the Courtyard Stage.
On Sunday, music will be confined to the Courtyard Stage starting at 2pm until 8pm.
Music is not the only form of entertainment as there will be performances by local belly dancers, singers and art displays. Food booths are set up along Old Kingston Rd providing hot foot, snacks and beer. Picnic tables are set up along the road and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
