Here was between 1840 and 1896 the first permanent city hall of the City of Quebec.
Built between 1795 and 1979 by Loyalist Thomas Aston Coffin, in 1816 this house became the property of Thomas Dunn, judge, politician and businessman.
His son, William, gave it to the City of Quebec. It is redesigned by architects Brown and Lecourt in 1850. The imposing stone porch dates from this period. It was demolished in 1898 to make place to current buildings.
