Located outside Ontario's Legislative Building, this marker reads
"ONTARIO POST ONE
Lat. 15.864.968.428' N
Long. -1.0.28.914.662 E"

and is accompanied by a plaque which reads in part:

"ONTARIO POST ONE

THE PRECISE GEOGRAPHIC POSITION OF THIS GEODESIC STATION "ONTARIO POST ONE" IS LATITUDE 43° 39' 45.421" NORTH- LONGITUDE 79° 23'26.620 WEST. THE COORDINATE POSITION IN THE ONTARIO COORDINATE SYSTEM BASED ON THE NORTH AMERICAN GEODETIC SURVEY 1927 ADJUSTMENT IS 15.864.968.428' NORTH - 1.028.914.662' EAST. ELEVATION ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL IS 356.871 FEET G.S.C. DATUM.
AZIMUTH AND DISTANCES TO SIMILAR STATIONS ERECTED THIS CENTENNIAL YEAR 1967 IN OTHER NATIONAL, PROVINCIAL AND TERRITORIAL CAPITALS OF CANADA ARE:..."
The plaque proceeds to list the coordinates and distances for all those cities and concludes:

"ERECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO
THE HONOURABLE JOHN P. ROBARTS, P.C., Q.C., PRIME MINISTER
21 JUNE, 1967"
