The final resting place of J.C. Elliott is at the east side of Rose Hill Burial Park, in the northwest corner of section 11. J.C.'s headstone is 4 feet from the road, and is a flat grey stone with a white inset box for test. Flowers are etched above the name. A large, upright family marker is just east of J.C.'s headstone.

1946: Six inmates unsuccessfully try to escape from Alcatraz Prison. A riot occurs, the so-called "Battle of Alcatraz"
