The red brick was manufactured at James Stuart's brick plant near La Riviere, Manitoba. The original porch boasts fine workmanship in the turned spindles and trim. The City of Selkirk, assisted by the Historic Resources Branch of the Manitoba Government, restored the exterior of the house. The building received municipal heritage designation in 1997.
