The Napanee, Tamworth & Quebec Railway (NTQR) was incorporated 15 May 1879, with the first train into Tamworth on 4 August 1884. The NTQR was renamed Kingston, Napanee & Western Railway (KNW) 24 April 1890. The KNW in turn was swallowed up by the Bay of Quinte Railway (BoQ) on 24 September 1891. By 1914 BoQ became part of Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR). By April 1941, CN abandoned the Tweed-Yarker line, which included the Tamworth Station.
It's not known when the old station, which is of standard BQR design (two story with bay window, with a one story freight shed on one end) was converted to residential use. The old RoW serves as a driveway.
