The final resting place of Hattie Harris Henderson is at the east side of Rose Hill Burial Park, at the far east side of section 13 (also known as Green Lawn). Hers is a flat, light grey marker with flowers etched into the left and right sides. A large family monument marks the Henderson plot.

1890: At Wounded Knee, South Dakota, a Native American camp, the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment tries to disperse the non-violent "Ghost-Dance" which was promised to usher in a new era of power and freedom to Native Americans but was feared as a potential rallying tool for violent rebellion by some in the U.S. government. Shooting begins, and 153 Lakota Sioux and 25 troops are killed; about 150 flee the scene
1900: Women in Germany demand the right to participate in university entrance exams
1910: The Union of South Africa is created
1920: Prohibition begins in the United States with the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution coming into effect
1930: Mahatma Gandhi informs the British viceroy of India that civil disobedience will begin 9 days later
1940: Hattie McDaniel becomes the first African-American to win an Academy Award
1950: Albert Einstein warns that nuclear war could lead to mutual destruction
1960: Adolph Coors III, the chairman of the board of the Coors Brewing Company, is kidnapped, and his captors demand a ransom of $500,000. Coors was later found murdered, and Joseph Corbett, Jr., is indicted for the crime
1970: American President Richard Nixon signs the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act into law, banning cigarette television advertisements in the United States with effect from January 1, 1971
1980: The United States severs diplomatic relations with Iran and imposes economic sanctions, following the taking of American hostages on November 4, 1979
1991: Four Los Angeles, California police officers are indicted for the videotaped March 3 beating of Rodney King during an arrest
