This AZ Mark is part of the UNDERPASS benchmark series (PID #NY0913) and is a re-monumented AZ Mark from 1971 since the original AZ Mark from 1948 was destroyed by road grading per the NY0913 datasheet, hence the 1948 1971 stamping on the disk.
The AZ Mark was found in great condition and was easily identified per the white metal witness post nearby.

To locate the AZ Mark, pull over onto a dirt road to the right (parking coordinates below), just past the Hwy 140 / N Poe Valley Rd junction. The AZ Mark will be located on the west side of Hwy 140 and near a fence line. There is a white metal witness post standing to the left of the AZ Mark, imbedded in a concrete post.
