The tourist town and World Heritage site of Luang Prabang has many attractions, one of which is its diverse architecture. Many buildings date from the French colonial era when French officials basked in the warm, lazy sun, and comfortably watched the days idle by. One of these buildings, most likely originally a residence, now a set of tourist offices (not uncommon here), is dated to 1934. The date is given on the side of the building, facing onto the main street.
