McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is described as the only waterfall in North America that empties directly into the Pacific Ocean. [Well, there is another one at
Reyes National Seashore but that one is seasonal whereas McWay runs whole year long.]
The fall empties into a beautiful cove and the view from the overlook is stunning whole year long. McWay Cove and the slopes are a protected wildlife area and it is illegal to get down to the waterfall. Stay on the boardwalk and enjoy the view.
