A statue of Weatherford native Mary Martin in one of her best-known roles, that of Peter Pan. The library also has an exhibit of Martin memorabilia, and Martin herself is buried in nearby City Greenwood Cemetery.

Peter Pan is ubiquitous in American culture, originating in literature and eventually brought to life on Broadway by Mary Martin (and later, Sandy Duncan and Cathy Rigby), on TV by Martin, and on the Silver Screen by Disney. We even have a peanut butter named for Peter Pan!
