Trinity University is located just a few miles north of downtown San Antonio. Its official street address is One Trinity Place, San Antonio, TX 78212. Its school mascot is a Bengal tiger named LeeRoy. In the 1950s, the university actually used to bring a live tiger to the games, but now a student dressed in a tiger mascot suit attends the games. The bronze sculpture of a male Bengal tiger standing 6 foot tall upon its black marble base is found surrounded by potted trees on a patio between the William H Ball Athletic Center and the E.M. Stevens Baseball field.
The signature of the sculptor on the bronze base of the tiger simply reads, Hale '99 with a copyright seal between the name and date. There is a small bronze plaque on the black marble base which reads:
