There is a small pedestrian entrance to the gardens at the southern end of Middleton Road Bridge.
At the bottom of some steps leading from the gates is a boulder with an attached metal plaque.
The entrance has some metal gates with stone gate posts. The gate posts are topped with two date stones. The left hand one has a date of 1939 and the right hand one 1945.
The memorial was unveiled by Lt. Gen. Sir Philip M Balfour.
The gardens themselves are next to the River Wharfe and are laid out as park land, with paths through the park and alongside the river.
The co-ordinates are taken at the garden memorial gates rather than the memorial itself.
The gardens and memorial are number 28662 in the United Kingdom Inventory of War Memorials. http://www.ukniwm.org.uk/server/show/conMemorial.28662/fromUkniwmSearch/1
