Since a decision was made to preserve the exterior on the West Jackson Street side, it certainly does not look like your typical church. Inside, they have repaired the damage of years of decay and have created worship space, classrooms, offices, and more. As one tours the church, it is obvious they wanted to preserve the history of the building and incorporate it into their worship space. For example, a classroom or other room might have a brick wall that was built to separate two stores. This was left on purpose so future generations can appreciate the history of their facility.
Another interesting feature is that they put main entrance on the side away from the street where they were able to put in a parking lot. Although one can reach the worship area from the main hall that goes through the building from the entrance on West Jackson Street, they decided it would be easier for everyone to park away from the busy street. The coordinates are for the West Jackson Street side so one can view the way they have maintained the building. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
