This piece is a bronze sculpture by Barbara Hepworth. Cast in bronze, Barbara completed this in 1968. It was then bought by Irving Zucker and given to the art museum by him in 1991.
Barbara Hepworth, from the UK, had done many Modernist sculptures and has had her work shown in the Leeds Art Gallery, Tate Gallery, Oxford University and many others. She has a museum dedicated to her work and her home has also been turned into a museum. She passed away in 1975.
Since the sculpture was given to the gallery by Irving Zucker it now sits in the Irving Zucker Sculpture Court outside the Hamilton Gallery of Art and is open to the public.
