See here the Queen Anna Paulowna, actually grand duchess Pavlovna of Russia from the Dynasty of Romanov (do not confuse her with famous ballet-dancer Anna Pavlova who has lived in The Hague, too).
Queen Anna Paulowna (Januari 18 1795 - March 1 1865) was married to the latter king William II of the Netherlands. She lived for a while in The Hague, and was very socially connected with the The Hague people. So some companies of The Hague honoured her with a beautiful statue, designed by the Russian sculptor named Alexander Taratynov (Moskou 1956).
It is a bronze statue of Anna Paulowna on the Anna Paulownaplein (Square of Anna Paulowna), sitting all alone between some beautiful trees. All the names of the companies are on a plaque and the statue is signed by Taratynov 1999.
The little square is in the magnificent Mesdag-area. You could visit the Mesdag museum and go for a walk, have a nice drink on one of the very nice terraces. There is no tram way or bus line, the ones which come as close as possible are tram way 1 - 10, and bus line 22 - 24.
