Der Bergdoktor ist eine deutsch-österreichische Fernsehserie, die nach Motivvorlagen einer erfolgreichen Romanreihe mit dem gleichen Titel aus dem Bastei-Verlag entstand. Schauplatz der Serie ist der fiktive Ort Sonnenstein in Tirol.
Die Serie lief in den 1990er Jahren mit sehr großem Erfolg im Hauptabendprogramm von Sat.1 und wurde zu einer der erfolgreichsten Serien des Privatsenders. Viele der Darsteller waren fernseherprobte Volksschauspieler und schafften danach den Durchbruch in anderen Fernsehgenres.
Seit 2007 lässt der Sender ZDF ein gleichnamiges Remake der Serie produzieren, das bereits 2008 anlief. Bis auf Titel und Konzeption unterscheidet sich die Neuauflage allerdings erheblich von der Originalserie.
In der neuen Folge wurde das Bergdoktorhaus nach Ellmau verlegt bzw. in Ellmau gedreht.

The Mountain doctor is a German-Austrian television series created by motif patterns of successful novels with the same title from the Bastion Press. Scene of the series is the fictional town in the Tyrol Sunstone.
The series ran in the 1990s with great success in the main evening program of Sat.1 and became one of the most successful series of the private broadcaster. Many of the actors had television proven popular actors and then managed to break into other television genres.
Since 2007, the station ZDF can produce a remake of the same name of the series, which began in 2008. Except for title and concept, the new edition, however, differs significantly from the original series.
In the new episode, the mountain doctor house was moved or rotated to Ellmau, Ellmau.
