The history museum of Sissach is located in a beautiful historic building, it is not dated but was mentioned in 1807 as an annex building of a nearby hotel.
The museum has exhibits about local history. The most important departments are:
- a large collection of traditional local holiday costumes and jewelery of the early 19th century.
- historic bibles
- old weapons
- silk weaving (the most important local industry in the early 19th century) with historic silk ribbons and working weaving looms. The looms are active 11:00-12:00 and 14:00-15:00.
