A flat spot was carved into the bank at the Northeast corner of the Saline County Courthouse and a statue of a firefighter was place there. He is standing with a hose nozzle in one hand and a pick-axe on his shoulder. Behind him on the retaining wall a plaque has been mounted with the names of three fallen firefighters and the dates they fell. There is room for other names to be added.
