This is one of those 'guide stoops' that was set up by order in 1702. In this case the base of a medieval cross.
Condition: Worn

Material: Stone

Inscription:
Front:- Darby Rode This ancient stone here preserved, is the base and part of the shaft of the medieval village cross. The words on it show that it was utilised as a guidepost after such were ordered to be set up at cross ways in the year 1702. Restored by W A Taylor ESQ St Lawrence of this parish. A.D 1932.
