This plate-girder bridge, built on a third-degree curve is one of two railroad bridges in Dunbar Township built by the Western Maryland Railroad, this one being called 252.9 (Miles from Baltimore, MD) between 1910-12 as part of the Connellsville Extension. This bridge is 731.5 feet long and goes under a salvage yard and another former railroad.
This bridge and the Bowest Bridge, three-tenths further southeast, was rehabilitated when this trail was constructed in 1994 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for $827,000.00.
