The Henderson Municipal Center is the home of the city government of Henderson, KY. It is located next to Central Park and near the county courthouse.
The city of Henderson was incorporated in 1810 and has been the hub of some important United States history throughout the years. Most importantly, the area where this building and in the nearby park area was the home to Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War and those troops also took over the nearby building as their "offices" during that time.
Henderson is probably most known for being the home of John James Audubon, a naturalist and painter that is well known for his book of paintings called "Birds of America".
