This World War II monument stands at the south end of the Clark Administration Building on the University of Nevada Reno Campus. The Clark Administration Building is located near the southwest corner of the campus and orinally housed the University's Library beginning in 1926.

The monument is made up of a large bronze plaque attached to a sculpted granite stone. The monument is adorned with an eagle with outstretched wings and reads:

UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA
GOLD STAR HONOR ROLL
WORLD WAR II

[Below the title are three bronze pieces attached with names on each piece - 27 names on each column.]

An article from the Reno Evening Gazette on May 17, 1946 reads:

"Erection of a Gold Star honor roll plaque in commemoration of University of Nevada students who lost their lives in world war II will be started before the end of the current semester, according to Noel Willis, president of Blue Key fraternity.
To be placed in the lawn in front of Stewart hall, the plaque will be placed upon a pedestal near the flag pole, Willis said.
A campus drive to collect funds for expense of the plaque will be conducted Tuesday and Wednesday on the campus by Blue Key members.
Willis said that 76 names now are on the list compiled by Dean Robert S. Griffin, but that additional names will be added if the list is found incomplete.
A dedication ceremony will be held about May 30, if plans for the construction of the memorial are sufficiently completed by that date.
Relatives and friends of former Nevada students are requested to contact Dean Robert S. Griffin at the university if additions or corrections need be made to the following list:
