U.S. Highway 84 runs east-west when it crosses the border between Georgia and Alabama. The actual border is located just west of the Chattahoochee River where the bridge ends.

The portion of U.S. Highway 84 in west Georgia and east Alabama is a multi-lane road with two lanes in each direction. The Chattahoochee River is only one of the major rivers that it crosses. According to one source, this highway stretches from Georgia to Colorado, so it crosses several states. (visit link)
