Montreal Shot Tower - Montreal, Qc, Canada - Shot Towers on Waymarking.com

This is an old Stelco tower used for manufacturing lead shot. It was built around the early 1900's.

What's interesting is that this remnant of the industrial age stands in a residential area. The former Stelco factory and offices have been converted to trendy condos and lofts.

On this website (visit link) you can hear a song about the Stelco workers who were sick because of lead poisoning working in this factory.
