Long Description:
Birling is a small village in Kent, not far from West Malling and has links via the nearby M20 motorway. Free parking is available behind the church in the car park.

For such a small village, this is quite an impressive church. There has been a church on this spot since the Norman invasion and the church was central to the struggles of both King Henry VI and VIII.

On each corner of the tower there are Gargoyles. Sadly these are no longer used to allow the water to drain off the roof, as you can clearly see modern drain pipes protruding. However on the west side of the church there is a low level flat roof with two gargoyles, one on each corner. These are clearly still operational and they are only 9 or 10 feet above ground level.
Water spout is used: yes

Condition: Lightly Weathered
