Just 30kms southwards of the provincial capital and large city of Chiang Mai, is the small city and provincial capital of Lamphun. The first major rail wstop on the long journey southwards to Bangkok.
The station is found near the city centre. In design, entirely standard. A long rectangular building stretching along the tracks, with a seated waiting area, a few displays, inside, a ticket counter and more seats. Outside a parking area with a few tuk tuks guys sleeping in the warm weather. A large number do not egress at this station. Expect to be noticed when you visit.
