I found no information on Isaac Edmond Thalman. This grey granite, 30 foot obelisk is in the very back of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. This is the tallest obelisk in the cemetery. The text of the obelisk reads:

Born at Seymour, Indiana Dec. 21, 1860
Reared and educated in Pleasant Hill, Mo. Started
Business in Baltimore, Md. in 1882. Successful
and retired in 1895. Traveled in United States
three years. Two and one half years around
the world and World's Fair Paris, 1900.
Died in Phoenix, Arizona Feb. 10, 1903
Laid to rest Feb. 26, 1903
