The defensive set of Calatayud is formed by five castles joined by more than 2250 meters of linens of wall preserved at present. In the wall there exists an interesting arch of horse-shoe of type califal.
Ayub's castle or Major, is the the most important and best preserved. It is of austere trace and raises on a platform of marl and of plaster of oval form. It possesses two enclosures, the high place looking at the city, and the down one, of typically Moslem style
