The Palace of the Counts of Castro Guimarães is also referred to as the Tower of São Sebastião.
It was built in the nineteenth century by Jorge O'Neill, whose family used the palace as a summer residence, until it was sold to the Counts of Castro Guimarães.
Será que quis dizer: Foi mandado construir no século XIX por George O'Neill, cuja família usava o palácio como casa de veraneio, até ser vendida aos condes de Castro Guimarães.
This is a revival-style palace, located in a small cove. During the high tides, the base of the building is touched by the waves. His style combines Romanticism - in vogue at the time - with a look of medieval château, which culminates in the great tower. It is surrounded by an interesting garden.
Currently retains its original layout, and houses the Museum of the Counts of Castro Guimarães, which brings together all parts of the vast art collection of the counts.
