A notice board with map located close to the free public car park at the entrance to the woods. Woods are maintained by the Forestry Commission and are well used by walkers and dog walkers. In the woods is an old pit reservoir, Wombwell Dam, which is now an established popular coarse fishery. There is a good head of mixed fish plus a large number of carp, some well into double figures. Water is day ticket obtainable from the bailiff on the bank.
