This is an historical building in Ipoh. According to the plaque (in gallery) it was originally a bar and restaurant . If I read the partially obscured plaque correctly, the building was built by Japanese immigrants, in a Chinese style, and catered to European planters—very multicultural.
At the current moment, the building is vacant and in a state of mild decay. Hopefully, this rather impressive example of architecture will find new life, possibly as a bar and restaurant again.
