Odrinhas is undoubtedly the most important site in terms of Roman presence in the region of Sintra. In addition to the Museum, the site has a varied multiplicity of Roman remains (and other eras) that attest to the subsequent permanent human presence on the site since at least the 1st century BC till the present.
The parts of the Roman walls and almost all compartments currently visible on the site, are traces of a villa founded during the second half of the 1st century BC. Over this primitive villa, was built another one, in the 4th century AC, from which is part of a mosaic floor in monochrome geometric design, still visible beside the chapel of S. Miguel.
The ruins of Odrinhas were declared as public interest in 30/11/1950.
