In Boston, Beacon Hill Section is a stone church building squeezed between other buildings that is the Church of Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal.
The building is a dark granite stone structure with a square bell tower. There are stairs leading up the to the front door. Tall peaked glass windows are on the building, as well as four-paned petal vents for the tower.
According to the church web site, the building was erected in 1831, by a Congregational assembly. In 1883, the building became a mission church under the St. John the Evangelist Seminary, now located in Cambridge. In 1985, it became a full parish church within the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
