A marsh scene is the subject of this 588 square foot mural created by Ashfield, MA artist Peggy Grose. Funding for the project was obtained from the Easthampton City Arts program, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Robinson Properties of Northampton Street. A six-member jury selected Peggy Grose's proposal over seven others.
The focal point of this nature themed mural is a male red-winged blackbird about to land in a marsh. To the left is a female bird of the same species flying in the opposite direction. A frog and a turtle are on the ground to the left and right of the blackbird. The wildlife is framed by typical marsh vegetation with cattails dominating the center of the mural.
