«This 15th century temple was built in 1569 under the command of D. Sebastião upon an ancient church that was erected in 1148.
It was later rebuilt in the end of the 12th century.
This church has a Mannerism style façade that remained unfinished (it lacks a tower), while the three-nave interior was built in the same style. Two tile panels with St Vincent’s carrack, some 16th century altarpieces and considerably valuable sacred art objects deserve your special attention.»
