Das nach dem großen Stadtbrand von 1581 im Stil der Renaissance erbaute Rathaus (1583-1585) beherrscht mit seinen zahlreichen Schmuckelementen die bestehende Fassade der Nordseite des Marktplatzes. Zwei Schmuckgiebel prägen die Hauptfront, am Ostgiebel entdeckt das neugierige Auge eine Mondphasenuhr und kann sich an den Plastiken aus dem 14. bis 16. Jahrhundert erfreuen. Auf der Ostseite des Platzes steht die aus 18 Sandsteinsäulen errichtete Galerie, die als Tuchmachergade genutzt wurde. Aufwendige Restaurationsarbeiten fanden bis 2009 statt und lassen das Rathaus nun in neuem Glanz erstrahlen.
After the great fire of 1581 in the style of the Renaissance town hall (1583-1585) dominated with its many decorative elements of the existing facade of the north side of the square. Two gable ornaments dominate the main front, at the east gable discovered the curious eye a Mondphasenuhr and may participate in the sculptures from the 14th to 16 Century delight. On the east side of the square is built of sandstone pillars 18 Gallery, which was used as Tuchmachergade. Costly restoration work took place until 2009 and leave the town hall now shine in new splendor.
