The memorial is in the form of a stone tablet on a granite
mount. Above the tablet is the badge of the Herts
Imperial Yeomanry within a laurel wreath, whilst below is a bugle, helmet and
sword.
The inscription reads

THE 42ND HERTS
SQUADRON OF THE
IMPERIAL YEOMANRY WHO
