There are 171 names listed on the memorial compared to the population of Emmaville today of 310. In its earlier days it was an important tin mining area & its population swelled to 2500, which would explain how so many volunteered to serve. A marble Digger stands on a raised granite cenotaph which has the names of those who served and the fallen.
