A centerpiece of the Pickering Millenium Waterfront, the Millennium Mast is a Kinnetic Sculpture that represents the majestic white pines of Pickering's shores, which were used by the British Royal Navy, early in the 19th century for masts to build their wooden ships.
This sculpture, created by artists Lynda and Ron Baird is 12 metres high. The sails atop the mast pivot in the wind while the mast gently rotates.
