My daughter & I have been volunteering at O'Neill Regional Park for over 14 years. We lead the Saturday morning Nature Hikes twice a month. For several years now we have been pitching that GIRLS are welcome to do their GOLD projects here too - not just the Boy Scouts and the Eagle Projects that "fill" the park.
The Rangers tipped us off to this project. We are fairly certain that THIS is the FIRST GOLD in the park. We are very excited because Brittany is a member in a Troop in Our Association (Four Service Units in a certain neighborhood)
The Project is two Interpretive Signs at the Trail Head to the Arroyo.
One sign has Native Animals and the other Non-Native & Native Plants.
Beautifully constructed and sure to last for years!
Congratulations Brittany - we hope this is the Benchmark for MUCH more GOLD @ O'Neill!
We learned that Brittany follows her brother (an Eagle Scout) in contributing to O'Neill and that her family, like ours has a special place in their life & hearts - it has been a part of their lives for many years.
