The Enchanted Highway was the brainchild of teacher and school principal Gary Greff from the small town that is 32 miles south of I-94. In an effort to attract people and businesses to Regent, North Dakota, Greff started by building The Tin Family (visit link) in 1991. The Enchanted Highway now features seven large metal sculptures including Geese in Flight (visit link) which was accepted by the Guinness World Book in 2002 as the World’s Largest Scrap Metal Sculpture (visit link) .
There is one large grasshopper here that measures 40 feet tall and 50 feet long. Two medium ones are 12 feet by 15 feet and three smaller ones are about 2 feet by 4 feet. The grasshoppers were constructed from 4 oil field tanks.
