Leisure World is a private, age-restricted community in Seal Beach, California. Opening in 1962, it was the first major planned retirement community of its type in the nation. Today there are approximately 9,000 shareholders and residents which represents nearly one-half the households and one-third of the population of the City of Seal Beach.
At the entrance to Leisure World, there is a large world globe. Zippy visited Leisure world and asked to globe about all the world hot spots and turmoil in the world. The globe told him there were no problems or conflicts at Leisure World. Everybody there was one big happy family.
