The Forest Park Zoological Society promotes public awareness and appreciation for indigenous and exotic animals. It provides educational programs to encourage understanding and respect for the natural environment. The zoo maintains a collection of over 150 animals including large and small mammals, reptiles and birds.
The Zoo sustained tree damage during the October snowstorm and, due to unsafe conditions, closed early for the season. The trees are being tended to and the zoo officially re-opens to the public in the Spring.
