Orchard, Manitoba Minister of Highways and Transportation in commemoration of the official opening of the Northern Woods and Water Route which provides access to natural scenic and recreational opportunities in the northern forest areas of Manitoba Saskatchewan Alberta and British Columbia. The Province of Manitoba also recognizes the efforts of the Northern Woods and Water Route Association in promoting the use of existing highways throughout scenic Western Canada to develop potential of the vast green area between Winnipeg and Dawson Creek.
