This one armed pump, painted green, although still operational, should not be drank from according to the sign at its base. The pump is installed on the concrete porch in the back yard of the cemetery lodge. The pump was installed most likely in 1885 when the cemetery gate was repaired and the lodge was built. If you look at the handle, text can be made out but due to the heavy presence of paint and repaint, it is hard or impossible to decipher the manufacture's name. The pump is a contributing structure to the historic district. parking is available roadside in front of the cemetery gate along Baltimore Pike, south of the center of town.
