The Deschutes National Forest Office is located on the Bend Pine Administrative Site at 63095 Deschutes Market Road in Bend, Oregon. The old Bend Pine Nursery originally covered more than 300 acres. Most of that land passed into the ownership of the Bend Parks and Recreation District while the Forest Service retained approximately 25 acres around the former Nursery buildings which is now the Bend Pine Administrative Site. Construction of the Forest Service Office building began in the Spring of 2010 and the building was dedicated on Oct. 13, 2011. The Forest Service Office opened on Nov. 14, 2011. The building includes the offices of the Deschutes National Forest Supervisor (second floor), the offices for the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District (first floor) and the Bend Field Office of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (second floor).
The Deschutes National Forest covers 1.6 million acres and the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District is the largest district on the forest and includes the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The front desk offers visitor information and sells maps and permits.
