La première église a été construite au début du XVIème siècle. De cet édifice, ne subsistent que les murs de la nef et le bas-côté nord.
La deuxième étape a lieu au XVIIème siècle, avec la construction d'une chapelle et l'agrandissement du choeur.
Le clocher et le bas-côté sud sont bâtis en 1837.
En 1972, pour faire face à l'augmentation de la population, le choeur et le transept sont remplacés par une halle en béton armé et charpente de bois apparente.
2 Haÿssiens, l'architecte Jacques Bahon et le maître-verrier Guevel osèrent l'association de l'art ancien et de l'art moderne.
