The "Jardim do Cerco" , which began in the eighteenth century, has been completed and gradually restored according to the principles of the art of the Baroque own gardens. Thisprime space, consists of two main parts: The Botanical Garden of aesthetic concern, containing the lake, and the Grove of the most scenic character, allowing the collection and intimacy. The noria of great architectural quality, which is another intermediate elementmechanical recovery seems important for the movement and sound that will transmit to the environment of the Garden. The presence of water is indeed a constant, pointing out aremarkable system of mines that extends the Mafra Hunting Reserve, collecting three milesalong the ground and headed for the lakes and Convent Garden.
The spring comes from a well and use a noria to pull the water!
