This became the flag of Bubendorf in 1943. It used to be the coat of arms of the medieval noble family von Bubendorf who owned a castle near the village in the 14th century.
I noticed that the division line of the flag does not go to the corners, only nearby, while the coat of arms has the division line exactly through the top corner.
I found this flag at a coffee shop near the town hall. The town flag was in a very uncommon set, between the flags of the cantons Basel-Land and Uri. An Uri flag is hardly ever seen in this part of Switzerland; maybe the former home place of the shop owner...
